Goddess and Angel Workshop  3/6-3/8, 2009

My experience was about attempting to come face to face with myself, the essence of who I am.   Perhaps a better way to describe it is that through visioning myself as a goddess in my art, I struggled to recognize and accept the divine in my own being.  It is an intensely personal, psychoactive process to create one of these pieces and Merry is a joyful, inspiring, midwife.  She greases the tracks so to speak, encouraging, prompting, and sharing her wealth of knowledge  - both technical and artistic;  helping us to not be afraid, to go big, to become larger than our current conception of who we are. I highly recommend this workshop.

The experience surpassed any hopes I had.

It was deeply revealing and transformative. I love Tlazoteotle Luna! She presently perches at the head of our bed and at night i move her to the opposite side of the room where she glimmers in the dim light. She looks even more wonderful in dim, soft light. Like the moon. I do still think about the scissors i kept seeing. Then yesterday in looking for more information on Kali, i found the Tara yantra and discovered she holds a lotus blossom and scissors! Perhaps this is more Tara than i realized.

I would do this again in a heartbeat and have recommended it to three friends already.

One of the advantages to the weekend workshop was that after the fatigue factor set in ( for me Friday evening) then vulnerabilities rose to the surface and usual defenses were absent. I was able to be present with issues and paint through them.

Thanks for an amazing experience, Merry. You truly have a gift.

I wanted to share my Goddess painting I did today, I am proud of the creativity that came through me.  After my Goddess workshop (given to me by my mother Goddess Kathy, and Merry)

I felt that I really could do something with art, when before I never felt that I had it in me.  I want to assure each and everyone of you that you do have it in you, if you allow it to come forward.  Thank you Kathy and Merry!!!! I love you all.....

Thank you so much for a very full experience. I loved devoting 4 days for painting and connecting deeply with myself and with the other wonderful women. I too loved the way our group came together, a beautiful blend of different energies. And I really appreciate the celebration feast.

I spent about 4 hours working on my mandala last night, it's getting complete. My husband loves it and wants me to make a copy so he can hang it in his office.

I have already recommended your class to others and would consider doing it again.

When I first met Merry, I felt an instant connection.  There is something so warm and open about her as she invites you into her home, studio and heart.

In the Goddess and Angel workshop, Merry brought together five women, most of us strangers to each other.
As we explored the history of the Goddess and our own creative process, we were no longer strangers, but fellow travelers on the path of self discovery.

Before the workshop Merry told me to think of something that I wanted in my life.  One thought came to me almost immediately and as we started the process, that idea began to take shape for me.  With Merry’s help, I learned to let go of some preconceived ideas about my Goddess and began to allow the creative process to flow.

I soon found myself absorbed in an exciting creative energy and having so much fun.  As I allowed my Goddess to work through me, her image took shape in a way I never imaged.  I was amazed at the power of my Goddess!  I love living with Vizana, my Goddess of Vision. She reminds me daily that she really has brought a new level of inner and outer vision to my life.

Thank you, Merry, for bringing this amazing experience and wonderful Goddess to my life.I truly appreciate Merry's ability set the tone for delving deep into our souls through guided visualizations and one to one conservations.  Then with her guidance I was able to  capture the essence of my soul into the creation of my Divine Goddess, which sits proudly in my office space.

I want to thank you for the opportunity to express my utmost appreciation for the time I spent at the Gooddesses Workshop. My friend, told me she was going to a girl's retreat and ask me is I wanted to come with her. I was so tired and needed a break that I just said yes.On the way to Columbus, I finally ask her what we were going to do. She said we were going to paint! I told her that I was sure that Merry wouldn't even let me paint her garage, I was so bad!  She assured me that I would figure it out, love it and would want more.
 
She was so right! The five girls that made up our group were as different as night and day but yet had a true bond. Merry made us use our hearts, brains and soul and creep down into those places we refused to reveal or acknowledge about ourselves. The affirmations from the others were wonderful. It was relaxing, spitit building and made me stop to examine myself. I would highly recommend this class to others who are soul searching and trying to grow in their spiritual life.

Merry is wonderful to work with.  She has a fun and loving spirit and that made it feel safe for me to express myself freely.  What I liked most was working with other woman on a deeper level than my normal daily life allow.

Being with my Goddesses during the creation process was awesome. Each time, it was like time stood still and suddenly I had a Goddess.... part of me that I didn't know existed!

I have been to 3 Goddess / Angel workshops now and all three of the paintings are very different and wonderful.

In the first workshop, I created my Goddess of Power. She helped me come to terms with the fact that I am a brilliant and intelligent force in the universe, while soft and feminine in nature!

The second Goddess I painted is my Goddess of Prosperity. Wow... this Goddess is flying over the earth accepting the abundance from the universe and the earth below. This painting is full of jewels and sparkles from all angles as you walk by. Some people have said she looks like a mermaid flying over the earth spreading jewels of love and beauty. My friends and family were amazed at this piece of art and asked us where it came from. When we told them I created it at a workshop in one weekend, they could hardly believe it!

In the third workshop I painted my Goddess of Joy and Gratitude. I expected to paint a Goddess or Angel dancing through the universe, instead, she is sitting in a yoga position surrounded by pansies and 12 peaceful mandalas. During the process one of the other women who was at the workshop posed in the yoga position for me to help with the painting. This workshop is a miraculous process where something so beautiful and profound can be produced in such a "short time."

Being with Merry and the other women over the weekends is a gift and very powerful. It's a fun and growing experience. To learn about the role that women and the divine feminine played in the history of religion is fascinating. Every woman should know this!! I believe this work is important. Merry is changing the world - one Goddess and Angel at a time:)

Through the process of this workshop, I was able to learn things about myself I had never accessed before, creatively and intuitively. It was engaging to get creative and learn the importance  the Goddess played in our history. It's helped me feel empowered as a person and as a woman.

Merry’s process of having a specific quality or issue to work on in the workshop works very well. The painting/collage that I created has become a very powerful image for me and is surprisingly important in my life. This is not just another “collage” weekend. This is a life-changing event. I recommend this to just about  every woman I know.
